South Korea is designing a floating flood-proof city

Oceanix Busan is the world’s first prototype floating city. It’s designed to be sustainable and entirely self-contained. It will produce its own clean energy, water and food. The city will be formed of interconnected floating platforms. There will be 3 platforms initially. A co-working and research hub, a residential area, and lodging for visitors . Together, they will accommodate 12,000 people. But its designers say the city could one day support 20 platforms, enough for a population of 100,000.
