Scientists have discovered the biggest reasons why species die out

Their research could help to protect animals at risk of extinction today. The study was led by researchers from the University of Oxford. They analyzed a dataset of more than 290,000 fossils spanning the past 485 million years of Earth’s history. They found that the biggest predictor of extinction is geography.
