The Capital of Egypt has Installed its First Cycle Lanes

Cyclists can now enjoy 2km of lanes in downtown Cairo. A 2nd phase of the project will extend this to 5km. Cairo’s traffic is notorious, some journeys are quicker on foot. Experts say this congestion costs Egypt up to 4% of its GDP, an economic consequence of delays, wasted fuel and the health impacts of polluted air
