These Building Blocks Are Made Out of Fungi

The blocks are renewable, reusable, lightweight and fire-resistant. They can be made into any shape and even stacked together, like Lego bricks. The blocks are made by UK design firm PLP Labs. It fills 3D-printed timber moulds with sawdust, hemp and flax. These materials are then knitted together by mycelium, the root-like network of threads that fungi grow underground.
