These invasive species cost the world $423 billion a year

IPBES has released a decade-spanning report on alien species. It says 3,500 invasive species cost the economy $423 billion a year. Alien species often kill or outcompete native species. Playing a role in 60% of extinctions since 1970. They’re often moved around by human activity and global warming is about to make the problem ‘much much worse’, says the IPBES.
