This Bulgarian Novel Has Won the International Booker Prize

Georgi Gospodinov’s Time Shelter took the £50,000 prize money which will be shared equally with its translator Angela Rodel. In the novel, a man opens a ‘clinic for the past’ for Alzheimer’s sufferers. The clinic recreates past decades in breathtaking detail. But when word spreads, healthy people also seek out the clinic to escape the troubles of modern life.
