Finding Innovative Ways To Ensure Food Security in Arid Climates

Food security is under increasing threat in the world’s dry regions. Climate change is destabilizing rainfall, increasing the severity of drought, and accelerating desertification affecting everything from soil fertility to water scarcity and from nutrition to economic stability. Together with the Ministry of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UpLink has announced a new collaboration. The Food Ecosystems in Arid Climates Challenge is searching for solutions that deliver on food availability, access, and management that can strengthen food security and tackle malnutrition in arid regions, both on land and at sea.
