This Kenyan Social Enterprise Makes Reusable Cloth Diapers

It’s reducing the number of disposable diapers polluting Kenya’s environment and providing jobs for local women living in poverty. MamaToto delivers its products door-to-door. Customers can wash the diapers themselves or use MamaToto’s laundry service. MamaToto launched in 2021. It initially targeted middle and upper-income households but its aim is to deliver affordable diapers to families on low incomes. MamaToto uses locally milled and employs women living in Kangemi, a Nairobu slum, to sew its accessories.
