The world is working on a treaty to end plastic pollution. How close is it?

In March 2022, UN members agreed to develop a treaty to end plastic pollution. The fifth round of talks took place in Busan, South Korea, in late 2024. It was meant to be the last. It is now almost three years since talks began. So what’s the hold-up?
