Tyres Create Particle Pollution. But There’s an Easy Way to Reduce It

Over time, tyres naturally lose air. Flatter tyres increase friction with the road and shed more ‘tyre wear particles’ into the environment. Worldwide, 1kg of these particles enter the environment from tyres, per person per year. The rate is even higher in developed countries. Up to 40% of this finds its way into rivers, lakes and the ocean.
