UNESCO says it is the ‘duty of all humanity’ to protect the city. Which has been under attack since the Russian invasion. Russia, a World Heritage Committee member, tried to delay the vote but all UNESCO member states - including Russia - must now avoid ‘deliberate destruction’ of Odesa.
