UNESCO says Venice should be added to its list of endangered world heritage sites

It says the city is under threat from both climate change and tourism. Venice is made up of around 118 small islands sitting in a lagoon. It’s famous for its canals and cultural sites and attracts around 25 million visitors every year. But Venice is sinking at a rate of 1mm every year. This makes it highly vulnerable to rising sea levels caused by climate change.
