Do you play video games? Your hearing may be at risk

Scientists have found that gamers are exposed to unsafe levels of noise which could lead to tinnitus and hearing loss in later life. Researchers looked at 14 studies about gaming. 1 study found the average noise levels in shooting games were 88-91 decibels (dB). That’s about as loud as people shouting. Adults should be exposed to that noise level for no more than 4 hours a week, says the WHO.
