Minister of Foreign Affairs (2011-2015)

BA in Political Studies, Queen's University. 1995-2005, Member, Provincial Legislature representing Nepean-Carleton, Ontario; served as Minister of Community and Social Services, Energy, Francophone Affairs, Children and Youth Services and Government House Leader. Since 2006, Member of the House of Commons (re-elected 2008 and 2011); 2006, President of the Treasury Board, responsible for introducing and successfully steering the new Federal Accountability Act through both Houses of Parliament; 2007, Minister of the Environment; 2008, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, responsible for spearheading the design, negotiation and delivery of some 12,000 infrastructure stimulus projects across the country; 2010, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons; 2010-11, Minister of the Environment. Member, Royal Canadian Legion. Honorary Member, Kiwanis Club of Nepean. Lifetime Member, Canada's largest association for community living. Recipient of honours and awards, including: Young Global Leader, World Economic Forum (2008); 2010 Parliamentarian of the Year, Maclean's Magazine and the Historica-Dominion Institute.
