Bachelor’s in English Literature, Hofstra University; Master’s in East Asian Studies, Columbia University. Formerly: began career with the United Nations (UN) as a press officer, Department of Public Information, New York; with UNICEF, the UN in Afghanistan, and the International Medical Corps in Iraq; with the UK Department for International Development in the Conflict, Humanitarian and Security Department, London. Since 2007, with United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), working to improve access and use of data and information in crisis settings; currently, Lead for OCHA's Centre for Humanitarian Data in The Hague and oversees a global open data platform, the Humanitarian Data Exchange.
