Mr. Mahesh Murthy is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Director, Managing Partner, Founding Partner, and Partner at Seedfund. Mr. Murthy is the Founder of Passionfund.com, which he founded in 2000. Mr. Murthy is the Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Pinstorm Technologies Private Limited. He ran Channel V till 2000 and then founded Passionfund to invest in and guide startups. Mr. Murthy also worked with Grey and Ogilvy, where he won notoriety and awards as a Creative Director on HP, The Economist, Pepsi and MTV – for whom he wrote and directed a spot voted “Asia’s best commercial of the decade”. Previously, Mr. Murthy served as Vice President of Marketing at iCat. He worked at CKS Partners as Creative Director, General Manager and Partner, where he helped launch the first commercial version of Yahoo in 1995 and the Earth’s Biggest Bookstore campaign for Amazon.com in 1997. He joined Amazon in 1994. He spent nine years, before Amazon in multinational ad agencies, handling Microsoft, Pepsi, Intel, MTV, Unilever, and other marketers. He consulted with Star TV, repositioning their youth vehicle, Channel [v], and creating a net and TV presence for it. Mr. Murthy invested in Geodesic Limited, Compassbox, EBS Direct, and WebDunia. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Geodesic Information Systems Ltd. He serves as Director of Netcraft Retail Solutions Private Limited and Innoz Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Murthy served as a Director of Geodesic Limited. He has spoken at Internet World Chicago, CNET (LA), 140Conf and other net conferences and won the world’s top awards at Cannes and Promax. Mr. Murthy penned a reasonably infamous column in Business Today and Businessworld, and played the Donald Trump-equivalent role in Business Baazigar. He also writes a column in The Wall Street Journal. He has over 26 years of marketing and communications experience, of which 15 years are in online marketing.
