Wilmot Allen is Director of East Africa with CrossBoundary, LLC, a U.S. investment firm focusing on frontier markets. Wilmot leads CrossBoundary’s investment advisory practice in East Africa from Nairobi. In this capacity, he also leads the transaction team for the East Africa Trade and Investment Hub, a flagship enterprise of the US Presidential Trade Africa initiative. Prior, He worked at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) with the private equity funds team, responsible for new investments and portfolio supervision. At IFC, Wilmot was also senior advisor to the CEO on entrepreneurship and co-developed IFC's strategy for fragile states and conflicted-affected areas. Wilmot previously worked in technology M&A investment banking with JPMorgan Hambrecht & Quist, in venture capital with Commonwealth Enterprise Fund, in finance and strategy with the ABC Television Network (Walt Disney Company) and with the private placements group of Merrill Lynch & Company. He is Co-Founder of the Partnership for Urban Innovation and a former public media creative executive with PBS in Los Angeles. Wilmot holds degrees from the Wharton School of Business, Harvard Kennedy School and Yale University.
