Women make up 80% of the agricultural workforce in the Sahel. This is why improving the working conditions, and pay of the sector will also benefit gender equality as well as strengthening food security and boosting living conditions. These 3 Sahel-based innovators are showing women leaders can gain from the agroforestry movement. All 3 innovators are winners of UpLink and 1t.org’s Sahel and Great Green Wall Challenge. A competition that aims to source and scale solutions that contribute to the Great Green Wall Initiative and which deliver benefits to people and the environment of the Sahel.
