Every year, ETH Zürich runs a contest for assistive technologies. Teams compete to see whose invention performs best in a range of everyday tasks such as tying a shoelace or navigating uneven terrain. The winning bionic leg is called Omnia. It was developed by a team at the Italian Institute of Technology.
