In today’s climate of instability, the struggle for justice and equality can be drowned out or even forgotten, warn human rights leaders. That makes protecting them more important than ever. We consulted 5 leaders working at the forefront of human rights: Philippe Bolopion, Executive Director of Human Rights Watch, Agnes Callamard, Secretary General of Amnesty International, Gary Haugen, CEO and Founder of International Justice Mission, Oleksandra Matviichuk, Head of the Center for Civil Liberties, and Amitabh Behar, Executive Director of Oxfam International. We asked them: are human rights under attack or going backwards? If so, why is this happening? And most importantly, how can the world get this vital struggle back on track?
