Thousands of girls in India are getting these reusable menstrual pads for free

They’re made of cloth to reduce irritation and skin infections and cut down on plastic pollution. The girls don’t have to pay so that no one suffers due to period poverty in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Plastic pads can cause urinary tract infections and the chemicals used to bleach them have been linked to cervical cancer.
