How This UAE Desert Farm is Ensuring Food Security

The desert farm is located in Sharjah, the UAE’s 3rd-largest emirate. The farm consists of 8 giant green circles. These are irrigated with 18 million litres of desalinated water every day. The desert farm is growing 35 varieties of wheat from around the world to find which are best suited to the Gulf climate. It doesn’t use any pesticides, chemicals or genetically modified crops. AI and thermal imaging systems analyze weather and soil data. This helps the farm irrigate more efficiently while monitoring crop growth. The desert farm is predicted to yield 1,600 tonnes of wheat this year. But that is set to increase significantly in the near future… Watch to learn more about this desert farm in UAE.
