Nigeria is rolling out a ‘revolutionary’ meningitis vaccine

The Men5CV vaccine is a 5-in-1 shot. It protects against the 5 major strains of meningococcal bacteria. A, C, W, Y and X. It gives better protection than the current vaccine used in most of Africa which only covers the A strain. Nigeria is the first country in the world to introduce the vaccine which is known by the brand name MenFive.
