Almost half of all US cancer deaths are preventable
Researchers looked at 1.78 million cancer cases from 2019. In 19 of the 30 cancers studied, more than half of cases and deaths could have been avoided by making different lifestyle choices. The extent to which lifestyle choices can mitigate risk varies between cancer types while genetics and environmental factors also play a role.
