Wuhan Is Building One of the Largest Libraries in China

Wuhan launched a competition to design its new library last year, and it's expected to be one of the largest libraries in China. This winning design was submitted by Dutch architect MVRDV. Its sweeping form was inspired by the 2 rivers that meet in the city. Inside, it will resemble a canyon, with stepped terraces of books rising on either side of a central walkway. The higher up you go, the quieter the reading and study spaces will become. Watch the video to learn more about how Wuhan is building one of the largest libraries in China.
