East Asia 2012: joining the conversation

The 2012 World Economic Forum on East Asia is still one day away, but the discussions on the region have already begun. Kittiratt Na Ranong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Thailand, and Sushant Palakurthi Rao, Senior Director, Head of Asia of the World Economic Forum, briefed international media at the Thai Government House last night, prior to the start of the 21st meeting of its kind.

The session was the first of many that will transpire in Bangkok, Thailand, between 30 May and 1 June. In addition to the numerous heads of state and hundreds of leaders from around the world participating in the event, the World Economic Forum invites you, our readers, to be part of the conversation

We have selected two critical issues to address live from the meeting. You are invited to contribute to the following two sessions:

Increasing East Asia’s Risk Resilience, 17.00 IST, 31 May 2012

  • How can East Asia improve its resilience to possible future disasters?
  • What must be done to keep the region protected against future shocks?
