Ana Paula Assis

Chairman, Europe, Middle East and Africa, IBM

Ana Paula Assis is Chairman and General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa at IBM. She was previously General Manager of IBM Latin America, responsible for the company's operations throughout the region. Previously, she was responsible for Infrastructure Services and Technology Support Services in Latin America. Ana Paula has also served as Vice President, Software Group for IBM Greater China Group. In this position, she was responsible for the profit and loss of the Software division, overseeing all sales operations and delivery associated with IBM Software Solutions.

Since joining IBM in 1996 as a client representative for the Financial Services Sector, Ana Paula has held various strategic and leadership roles, including Executive Assistant to the General Manager of IBM Americas, Director of Global Technology Services for Financial Services Sector clients for IBM Latin America and Director of Strategic Outsourcing for IBM Brazil. Before her assignment in China, Ana Paula held the vice presidency of Software Group for IBM Brazil.

She has a degree in Computer Science, with Business Administration specialization from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and an MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral.
