Catalina Escobar

President, Juan Felipe Foundation

Catalina Escobar is President of the Juan Felipe Foundation. She is a social entrepreneur and has forged a unique three-way partnership among her citizen organization, key public hospitals, and the private sector to attack serious health problems in infants, children, and young mothers living in the most poverty stricken areas of Cartagena. Catalina’s program has already achieved astounding results in the reduction of infant mortality and is ripe for replication throughout Colombia. The Colombian President has awarded her with the "National Order of Merit in Silver Cross Grade." In 2012 Catalina was selected as one of the 25 women in the world to be part of the Fortune/State Department Global Women´s Partnership, as well as a Top 10 CNN Heroes. In 2013, Revista Semana awarded her as Top 10 best Colombian Leaders. Moreover, she got the Poder Business Award by Poder Magazine and 21 Leaders of the 21st Century by Women eNews in the U.S.
