Dr. Tanya Filer is Research Associate in Public Policy and Policy Engagement at the Bennett Institute for Public Policy, where her work focuses on the Digital State.
Tanya's research concerns the emergence of the GovTech sector and the governance of digital and emerging technologies developed for governments. She takes a comparative international perspective, including the UK. She has broader interests in online political communications and the politics of technological innovation in the Global South, and has extensive research experience in Latin America. Her research appears in publications including New Media & Society, Journal of Iberian and Latin American Studies and International Journal of Politics, Culture, and Society. At the Institute, Tanya also runs Tech States, a video and podcast series featuring leading voices on technology, policy and governance.
