PhD from Queen Mary, University of London (2009), MA also from Queen Mary (2005), BA in History and Politics from University of Nottingham (2003). Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (admitted 2015).

Published widely on British political culture in the 'long' nineteenth century (1780-1914) including in English Historical Review, Historical Research, Parliamentary History and Cultural and Social History. Contributed over 200 biographies and constituencies histories to the History of Parliament's 1832-1868 House of Commons project.
