Has held fellowships at Yale Law School's Paul Tsai China Center; Harvard Law School; Harvard Kennedy School; Brookings Institution; the Center for Strategic and International Studies; and the Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore. Works on the politics, law and security of the Asia-Pacific, with a focus on the South China Sea dispute. Also studies nationalism and race and religious relations in South-East Asia. Advocate and Solicitor, Supreme Court of Singapore. Former: Global Future Council on International Security, World Economic Forum; Editor-in-Chief, Cambridge Review of International Affairs and Singapore Law Review; Senior Producer, television news station in Asia. Has written for leading publications and broadsheets and has been interviewed by and quoted in various broadcast and print media.
