Malak Yacout

Curator, Beirut Hub, Global Shapers

Passionate about bringing opportunity to those who need it the most, I work in this space in both my personal and professional capacity.

I see the world through the lens of an impact entrepreneur consistently pushing for a more thoughtful, human, responsible, and intentional way to experience the world. I am the youngest EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women Network candidate, a Global Shaper, and an INSEAD alumna.

A storyteller at heart, I have used my experience in marketing and advertising to accelerate the growth of my latest social enterprise, The Volunteer Circle - winner of the Young Innovation Award 2020, Most Innovative NGO Platform for Volunteers, and Best AI-Powered Skill Sharing Platform in the Middle East. Initially a simple idea, The Volunteer Circle turned into an innovative solution that disrupts the way we tap into volunteering in Lebanon, Egypt & the MENA region and universally reduces the hassles of volunteer recruitment and management.

I launched The Volunteer Circle while based in Beirut. Shortly after, the country went through economic collapse, COVID-19, and the August 4th Blast. Along with a team, I turned the darkest time into a launchpad for more than 250 organizations to access 7,000+ volunteers, saving +2M USD worth of services, connecting hundreds to jobs, and touching the lives of more than a million individuals and households in Lebanon.

What I enjoy most is channeling my creativity and business skills to mobilize the next generation towards active impact, so I try to only go for projects where I can practice my knowledge and experience to serve and change lives.

Mention travel, stand-up comedy, or food, and watch my eyes light up.
