Rakib Avi

Programme Manager for BRAC Social Innovation Lab, BRAC

Avi manages innovation, strategy and growth of a portfolio of social development programmes in BRAC, which covers programme in financial inclusion, climate change, women’s empowerment, education, health and youth among others.
He leads the Social Innovation Lab in the organisation, which works as a knowledge and experimentation hub at BRAC. Avi specialises in mobile financial services, digital tools for development, youth development and human-centred design principles. He is focussed on scaling successful social innovations and identifying segments in the market with high growth potential for BRAC’s emerging social enterprises.
Avi has been recognised for his work by the Acumen Fund as a Fellow and as a mentor for young innovators as part of UN Global Compact’s Young SDG Innovators Programme. He is an alumnus of Unleash — an innovation lab to design breakthrough solutions to meet the SDGs. Avi has also been recognised as a Transformational Leader at BRAC — a cohort of senior leaders who are responsible for driving strategy in the organisation.
