My research interests include immigration (teaching of immigrant students/teaching about immigration), teacher education, social studies education, comparative and international education, and the impact of neoliberal reform policies on K-12 public education. A current focus of my teaching practice is exploring creative and meaningful ways to mediate teacher preparation methods coursework, practicum placements, and community-based learning experiences.
