Lessons learned from over three decades fighting poverty
The founder of Brazil's Dara Institute outlines three important lessons on how public and private actors from civil society can help eradicate poverty.
Instituto Dara (formerly Saúde Criança Renascer) is a civil society organization that works to promote health and human development through the implementation and dissemination of an integrated approach to combat poverty. A world pioneer in intersectoral work with social determinants of health, it was founded by Dr Vera Cordeiro in 1991 in Rio de Janeiro and replicated over the world as well as integrated in public policy in several states of Brazil.
