Horn of Africa Development Initiative - HODI

Horn of Africa Development Initiative's mission is to create peaceful, resilient communities in the Horn of Africa through advocacy, education, conflict resolution, and decent livelihoods. It has four flagship projects: Traditional Elders for Peace increases the capacity of elders and a group of Women for Peace in 300 villages to resolve conflicts peacefully; Shoot to Score, Not Kill provides school-aged children with frameworks for learning a culture of non-violence through football; Breaking the Silence is a school-based peer-network for adolescent girls to have a safe space to share on sensitive topics; and Community Resilience helps communities pool resources by creating savings schemes.
