Amy Smith-Dijak

Postdoctoral Fellow, McGill University

I am a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University studying the ways that the brain tries to heal itself in the face of neurodegenerative disease. I took up this post after completing my PhD in Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia, during which time I partnered with Teva Pharmaceuticals to better understand how a potential treatment for Huntington's disease works. I am interested in bringing scientific findings to the wider public, whether through industry partnerships or through involvement with science communication activities such as presenting at Pint of Science and writing for SCASource.
