In 2012, a centralized ecosystem of clean energy entrepreneurs, corporations and venture capitalists did not exist. Emily Kirsch launched Powerhouse in 2013 to be that community. Powerhouse is based in Silicon Valley where it houses and invests in the country's most innovative clean energy entrepreneurs. What sets Powerhouse apart is its focus on technologies and business model innovation that drives a paradigm shift in energy worldwide. Powerhouse has housed over 50 clean energy start-ups and has invested in 17. Powerhouse start-ups have collectively created hundreds of jobs, raised hundreds of millions in capital and have generated hundreds of millions in revenue. She also launched and led Green Jobs Corp, Climate Action Coalition and Oakland Solar Mosaic.
