Gabrielle Thomas

Postdoc, Max Born Institute

I am consultant for M Squared Lasers based in Berlin, Germany, and academic visitor at Imperial College London, department of Physics.
M Squared Lasers are an award-winning photonics and quantum technology company dedicated to using light to change the world. We're actively involved in ground-breaking research projects in fields spanning chemical sensing, biophotonics and quantum technology.
This year I was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship at the Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth in Berlin, to develop novel mid-infrared lasers for remote carbon dioxide detection. Previously I was based at the Max Born Institute in Berlin and at Imperial College London. My research experience involved developing highly-engineered laser systems for applications as diverse as remote sensing, biomedical imaging and attosecond science.
