June 2018, Secretary of Economic Policy, Ministry of Economy. Since September 2018, Governor of the Central Bank of Argentina. Former: Professor, Johns Hopkins University; Visiting Professor, London School of Economics and Universidad de Los Andes; Visiting Researcher, Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Central Bank of Chile, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Inter-American Development Bank and International Monetary Fund. Former consultant and researcher for the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Office of the Attorney General of the Treasury and Latin American governments and investment banks. Academic research work focuses on the effect of financial crises and the costs of sovereign defaults. Papers have been published in the Journal of International Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, and Oxford University Press, among others. Co-authored the children’s book series “Hay Equipo” (The Team Gets Ready for the Match).
