Guillaume Rose

Chief Executive Officer, Monaco Economic Board

Since 21 March 2019, Executive Director General of the Monaco Economic Board (MEB), a non-profit association responsible for promoting the business community in the Principality and actively participating in its development on a local level and abroad.

He studied screenwriting, graduating from the Sorbonne in Paris with a Master's in film studies and going on to work in the French capital for four years, occupying different production positions in TV and film.

He returned to the land of his birth, Monaco, in 1997 to work in communications for the Société des Bains de Mer. Scaling his way up the ladder, he became head of the department responsible for promoting gaming. After a Corporate MBA from the International University of Monaco had rounded off his management and marketing training, he set off for Las Vegas and MGM Mirage. He thus gained insight into every type of job within a hotel with casino and experienced several of them firsthand during his stay.

On his return to Monaco, he carried out an audit of all of the reservations and sales departments within SBM, and shortly after he was appointed Executive Assistant to the CEO before taking responsibility for the group's entire Communications Department.

Guillaume Rose, has been President of the Monaco Tourist Authority of the Principality of Monaco since 2011.

Throughout his years with SBM, he nurtured links between the latter and the movies, notably by authorising filming for Ocean's 12, Iron Man 2, The Counterfeiters, Priceless, The Girl from Monaco and Heartbreaker. He also hosted poker tournaments (MonteCarlo Millions, PokerStars European Poker Tour) for which he was directly responsible within SBM until he left in 2010. Driven by a desire to serve his country more directly, Guillaume Rose joined the Principality's Tourism Department in June 2010, as Deputy Director. The following year he became President.

He set about promoting the Principality of Monaco as a premium tourist destination as well as opening up new incoming markets. He also grew the congress business, reflected clearly in the success that Monaco's hotel industry has enjoyed over recent years.
Guillaume Rose’s objectives as new CEO of the Monaco Economic Board fall into two mains areas:

- Coordinate and federate the various public and parapublic entities especially cultural but also scientific and sports related so that Monaco increases its visibility and clout internationally. The MEB will be pro-active in this innovative approach.

- Also, to develop international networks with the invaluable input of the ten offices representing ‘Destination Monaco’ round the world. They have already been briefed about working for MEB in addition to the Tourism Authority, and have started putting forward new activities, as well as the usual follow-up of all the MEB actions in their region of expertise. This covers most of Western Europe, the United States and Canada, Russia and all of Asia and Oceania.
