Recent project work has focused on the promotion of entrepreneurship to disaffected youth. One of the young African leaders who attended the African Leadership Academy (ALA); founded Grow Green Itsuseng, a community based homestead gardening project for the olds and orphans in the informal settlement called Itsuseng in Johannesburg. Founder, Darecha, a business IDEAS competition targeting Tanzanian youth between the ages of 16 and 25 and challenging them to design innovative business models that meet societal needs. Winners of the competition receive further training and support to start their ventures. Currently running the Darecha Entrepreneurship Academy, a project that provides entrepreneurship education to high school graduates.
