Edison Alliance: Impact on the Ground
Telemedicine is Changing Healthcare in Rural India
This video is part of: Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution
Across India, millions of people are dependent on government-run healthcare facilities which serve up to 100,000 people per centre. Ensuring accessible and quality care has proven a challenge due to infrastructural problems, healthcare practitioner shortages, the rising cost of treatment and a lack of education and prevention awareness.
This is why Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation and US Telecom provider initiated an innovative issue by setting up five digital dispensaries in rural Madhya Pradesh. This partnership emerged from the World Economic Forum’s EDISON Alliance.
