These highways charge electric trucks while they drive

Since 2019, Germany has been trialling special eHighways. They have overhead ‘catenary’ cables, like tram or train lines, which charge electric trucks through special receivers. Siemens built the eHighway with partners. Now German policy-makers are considering extending the cables over a stretch of motorway from Lübeck to Bremen
