Researchers can now pinpoint the sources of smog in Beijing
To remove toxic pollutants from air, it’s important to know where they come from. But pinpointing the sources of air pollution is often a challenge. Researchers led by the Paul Scherrer Institute are using a new type of tool to solve this problem. It’s called a mobile aerosol mass spectrometer. It can analyze the surrounding air and identify the types and origin of pollutants.
