This nature-inspired device sends a warning as soon as a wildfire is detected

Pyri is a pinecone-shaped transmitter triggered by heat. It has been designed for use in remote or vulnerable communities. Pyri’s signal can be detected from up to 50km away enabling firefighters to pinpoint the exact location of the wildfire. AI then cross-references Pyri’s signals with weather and satellite data to predict where the fire will spread to next.
