3 ways clean hydrogen projects can boost their chances of securing final investment decisions
The World Economic Forum Clean Hydrogen Project Accelerator has found that there are three key ways that clean hydrogen projects can be bought to fruition.
As Head of the Industrial Transformation Program, Jörgen manages several CEO-led multi-stakeholder projects intended to; deliver net-zero materials ecosystems, unlock the technologies and finance that will enable them, and design new business models.
Current initiatives under the Industrial Transformation program are:
• Aluminium for Climate initiative: a collaboration to accelerate zero primary aluminium production.
• Net-Zero Steel initiative: developing an industry net zero roadmap, coherent policy positions and demand signals.
• Accelerating Clean Hydrogen initiative: setting up new collaborative efforts to scale clean hydrogen.
• Low-Carbon Emitting Technologies initiative: accelerate upscaling technologies for chemicals production.
• Concrete Action for Climate: coordinate innovation, stimulate demand, ensure financing and policy.
• Net Zero Industry Clusters initiative: accelerate the transition of industrial clusters to net-zero emissions.
• Human Capital Transformation: supporting Next Generation Industry Leaders and creating Talent Innovation Hubs.

Cement releases a vast amount of emissions. Circularity could help solve this problem by keeping emissions to a minimum while enabling the construction of homes and infrastructure.
A new report profiles six countries taking action to reduce the enormous environmental impact of public procurement of low carbon concrete – but it requires us to go much further
Using decarbonization technology in the aluminium sector could reduce carbon emissions from aluminium processing in China by 65% over the next 40 years.
A decarbonized energy system requires both electrification and low carbon fuels. Accelerated action can boost public and private efforts and investment in clean hydrogen.
How China can boost its carbon neutrality efforts by ensuring renewables account for more than 50% of the power supply for aluminium production by 2045.
As demand grows for aluminium to further the global energy transition, we must gather, sort and recycle it more efficiently to reduce the industry's emissions toll
The traditional methods of finding and retaining talent in mining and metals companies need updating to reflect employees with new skillsets and values.
New report from ICMM highlights the critical role the mining industry can play in supporting mining communities to develop the skills needed for new roles.
The mining industry could collaborate more effectively to improve environmental, social and governance standards as world moves to a lower-carbon economy.
