Tobii has pioneered eye-tracking technology ever since the company’s inception in 2001. Our vision has been to bring eye tracking into our everyday lives.

With our ability to know exactly where users are looking in real-time, we can improve the way we interact with computers, operate vehicles and even play video games. But how far have we really come on that journey?

As a global leader in eye tracking and gaze interaction, Tobii has sold more than 10,000 eye-tracking systems. Our eye-tracking-enabled assistive devices have helped support over 8,000 people with disabilities, enabling them to communicate, control their environment and live fuller, more independent lives.

Eye tracking has become a standard tool in many research fields where insights about gaze and attention provide a better understanding of human behaviour. It is also helping discoveries in cognitive, behavioural, psychological and linguistic research. Our collaboration with leading universities and research organizations has allowed researchers to develop new theories and insights within their respective fields.

Eye tracking also has commercial applications. For example, Fortune 500 companies have used our technology to measure the effectiveness of their marketing messages and in-store merchandising displays.

We are also integrating the technology into personal computers, enabling users to point, click, scroll and interact using their eyes. This makes for a more comfortable, more intuitive experience.

Looking forward, we see almost limitless applications for eye tracking technology in the automotive, industrial vehicles, design, gaming, security, and diagnostic medicine sectors.

Based in Sweden but with offices around the world, Tobii (www.tobii.com) now has over 300 employees and the largest eye-tracking research and development team in the world.

We are proud to have been named a 2013 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.
