A lab assistant performs an experiment during an inauguration visit of a new P3 level research laboratory against tuberculosis at the School of Life Sciences of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne in Ecublens near Lausanne March 17, 2010. Financed by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Swiss Government, the lab is open to researchers from EPFL and nearby universities in order to study in vivo strains of Bacillus anthracis, the air-borne pathogen causing tuberculosis. There are around 500 cases of tuberculosis each year in Switzerland alone. REUTERS/Denis Balibouse (SWITZERLAND - Tags: HEALTH SCI TECH) - BM2E63H19U801
