Andrew Moore is Dean of the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. He gained his PhD from Cambridge University. Andrew then moved to a postdoc position at MIT. He joined Carnegie Mellon University as an assistant professor, working in the fields of machine learning, reinforcement learning, manufacturing and algorithms for non-parametric regression. He was tenured in 2000. In recent years his main research interests are computational statistics, artificial intelligence, and statistical data mining. He built a research group called the Auton Lab.
